Dartmouth

Dartmouth is a delightfully picturesque small town at the mouth of the River Dart in the South Hams area of Devon. An ideal place to visit for river views and boat trips, walks along the South West Coastal Path, and the delights of the town itself. This deep estuary is home to yacht clubs, gig rowers, pleasure craft and a small fishing fleet as well as visiting tall ships and the occasional cruise liner. The Britannia Royal Naval College sits on a hill above the water and you might see smart young officer cadets about town or heading out for manoeuvres on picket boats.

On the water there is sailing, Kayaking & paddle boards, hire a cuddy boat, fish for the local catch or take a ferry trip. Tiny coves or the nearby beaches might invite you in if the weather is warm or you are feeling brave. A stroll to the castle or a longer stretch of the coastal path will reward you with breath taking views. Visits to Greenway or Collaton Fishacre or a ride on the steam train are popular excursions. The town is full of quirky shops, jewellers and galleries for browsing or buying. We are particularly blessed with foodie options; grab your lunch from one of the delis, perhaps a treat from a tea shop. In the evening we have cool bars and traditional pubs, and a selection of eateries from fish and chips to high end fine dining.
